Optimal health and wellness is a subjective term. Period. If you ask 100 health care professionals what it means to them, you would probably get many different answers. What does this term mean to you? And how important is it to you personally, your loved ones, and your future?

The term can be broken down quite simply. At the chiropractic profession, the term “health” consists of essentially 3 ways to live your life.

Eat Well. Move Well. Think Well.

In this column, I’ll break down all the terms above and give you some “real” life advice that you can use, to help you and your loved ones live a supersized life (not McDonald’s supersized! LOL!)

How do optimal health and wellness help you?

Humans are now the sickest species on Earth. We’ve got the sickest kids, the sickest teens, the sickest adults, and the sickest older in the history of our species. Over half of our whole population has a chronic illness, over 80 percent of our workforce has a chronic illness.

Chronic illness is responsible for 9 days of absenteeism per employee annually and up to 91 days of lost productivity per worker each year. Chronic illness is the leading cause of suffering and death; 80 percent of our population is dying and will die from chronic illness. The black plague just killed 30 percent of the populace.

Why not people strive to live optimal health and wellbeing life?

Obesity has been rising for a while now… our kids are FAT… and our kids our unhealthy. Lots of the health professionals out there now have hypothesized that metabolic syndrome is going to be the number killer in the next 40-50 years. Not heart disease, rather than cancer. Follow the 3 easy steps listed in this report and you’ll greatly reduce your family’s chances of developing this disorder.

It’s a lot easier to be unhealthy than it is to be healthy, look to your left, now look to your right. Everywhere you look is an advertisement for “fast food” This arouses our interest because we want everything as fast, cheap, and convenient as humanly possible.

We are all tired at the end of the day and it is really easy to experience the drive-through at McDonald’s and have an instant meal without going home to prepare a great healthy meal. It’s tough to live an optimal health and wellbeing life as it’s tough to get up and go to the gym daily and it’s tough to come home from work and cook a great healthy meal. It’s a lot easier to do what is fast, easy, and convenient. I hope this article alters your ideas in your lifestyle habits. Trust me, it’ll be well worth it to eat well, move well, and think well.

Eat Well.

In my many years of treating and assisting patients and customers, I have found the average person does not know what to eat throughout the day. Many are now “clueless” when it comes to making healthy food selections. Many do not even read the nutrition facts on the box that they got in the grocery store.

Move Well.

You want to move well to get an optimal health and wellness lifestyle. Transferring nicely can be broken down into subcategories: posture, cardiovascular exercise, and resistance training.

Posture:

Maintaining good posture can save your backbone out of abnormal forces places upon certain joint levels. If posture is missing injury becomes almost sure. Bad posture can lead to degeneration of the spine, weakness of the muscles, overactivity of the muscles, and improper dependency formation. Cardiovascular Training:

Get moving! Human beings weren’t designed to be sedentary, so get up and get your buns in gear. Training your heart a part of an overall optimum health and wellness lifestyle. Think Well.

Perhaps you have heard that it is possible to think yourself well? I’m not positive if science could back up that theory but it can demonstrate that a positive mind can do big things. Once you can control your thoughts and your emotions your body will follow to get an optimal health and wellness lifestyle.

There has been a lot of research on the topic of the biopsychosocial model. This version is a combination of both physical and psychosocial difficulties. Even though most patients start improving fast from back pain with the ideal care, both the recurrence rate and dissatisfaction with medical care are high. Causing people to worry more than usual.

A healthy mind is part of overall healthy well-being. I am not saying we can think ourselves well with positive thinking, but combined with eating well, and proceeding well can make a difference in your lifetime.
